The Cormorant - Cafe on the Pier Seahorse World

A new way of eating at Seahorse World

The Cormorant Café on the Pier – extraordinary food

Enjoy one of our wonderfully distinct lunches, afternoon and morning teas in a fabulous waterfront setting.

The Cormorant Cafe StaffWe are blessed to have Chef Roy develop our menu. He has worked around the world, managing menus for major restaurants in Dubai and Europe, but has settled down in the local area putting his energies into other passions. However, the lure of cooking for the enjoyment of others could not be denied and the combination of his passion with our magnificent facilities and view has led to the opening of The Cormorant – Café on the Pier.

Roy is joined by Chef Mark (right) and Cook Alice (left) and the rest of the staff who are keen to provide you a wonderful dining experience.

Kids are more than welcome to our café. Yummy Valhalla ice cream, locally roasted coffee, milkshakes, amazing fresh fruit juices.

The Cormorant

Enjoy a Devonshire Tea with fresh scones cooked on-site, Tasmanian Valhalla ice cream.

The Cormorant

We adopted this name because as you look out the northern windows you will normally see these birds gathering on the pier. Around the world there are various species with five different species recognised in Tasmania.

Cormorants have been trained to catch fish for people. A strap was placed around the neck to stop any idea of the bird becoming a free agent. It would stop them swallowing but not breathing.

They are extremely agile under water aided by webbed feet and a long bill allows them to readily catch and hold fish.
